Feeling overwhelmed? Not as productive as you could be?

If you wish you could use OmniFocus to get organized, but you haven’t found a system that works for you, you’re in the right place.

In this video course, you’ll learn an OmniFocus workflow you can rely on.

Picture this:

  • You feel less stressed because your to-dos and projects are under control.
  • You’re more consistent and reliable because you don’t miss deadlines.
  • You feel proud because you’re doing your most important work.
  • You’ve got a great overview, so you know exactly what to work on next.
  • And nothing slips through the cracks.

Let’s make that happen for you.

Learn a simple workflow you can trust. With real examples and a friendly instructor.
Paul Christy
“Managing 500 employees and a $40 million budget means I have a lot of projects and tasks. Thanks to Peter’s course I’m starting the week super-charged with my schedule and tasks lined up.”
Ready to take control of your to-dos?

You have lots of responsibilities—and that’s okay

Tasks at home. Projects at work. Being there for your friends and family. Staying healthy. Taking care of your finances. It’s a lot.

It’s a lot, but it’s manageable with the right system.

With the right system, you can stay on top of your email. You can consistently get around to your most important tasks. And you can meet your deadlines.

OmniFocus can be a great foundation of that system—if you set it up right. And that’s where this course comes in.

In this course, you’ll learn how to:

  • make OmniFocus an extension of your brain
  • organize your tasks and projects
  • plan your day and your week
  • filter your tasks so you can find the ones that are relevant right now
  • save time with repeating tasks and project templates
  • execute the #1 most important productivity habit: the weekly review

Of course, you’ll learn lots of OmniFocus-specific things too, like how dates work, how to use the various types of projects, how to use Focus Mode to concentrate on specific parts of your life, and more.

Your time is valuable

You’ll learn exactly what you need—no more and no less. I’ve designed the course to be as efficient as possibly.

You could piece together information on using OmniFocus from random places all over the Internet. But how long would that take? And what is your time worth to you?

When you follow this course, you’ll learn everything you need to know to organize your life and to be productive using OmniFocus. You’ll save tons on time compared to figuring things out yourself.

Think about what you could do with the extra time. You could spend it with your kids. You could spend it learning to play the guitar. Or you could, you know, spend the time doing the actual work you want to do!

After completing the course, you’ll:

  • be able to focus better,
  • feel more in control,
  • know exactly what to work on next,
  • save time,
  • and have a productivity system that ensures nothing slips through the cracks.

That’s what learning an OmniFocus workflow you can trust will do for you.

Joel Clermont
“I have been using OmniFocus for years and I already knew a lot of things, but Peter’s approach helped me rely on OmniFocus more than ever before. This freed me up to focus on the important tasks each day instead of guessing what to work on.”
Each video lesson comes with captions in English and subtitles in many languages.

Option: access to project templates & goal-setting workshop

You can choose to get access to my OmniFocus project templates and a goal-setting workshop.

The templates include my recommended OmniFocus setup. You can copy and paste them into your OmniFocus database to save time during the course.

(Note: you can only install the templates on macOS. They’ll sync to all of your devices, but you can’t directly install them on iOS.)

The workshop is titled Translating Your Goals Into Action. It takes a few hours to work through and you’ll walk away with:

What’s more, you get a handy, step-by-step workbook.

Option: Personal video feedback by peter

You can also choose to get personal feedback from me on your OmniFocus setup. Here’s how that works:

  1. You enroll in the personal feedback edition of the course.
  2. Within 4 weeks of enrolling, you send me screenshots or a short video (< 5 minutes) of your OmniFocus setup.
  3. Within 2 weeks of receiving that, I send you back a personal video with my feedback on your setup, including actionable steps for you to get even more out of OmniFocus.

If you’d like to get your OmniFocus workflow dialed in as quickly as possible, choose the personal feedback option.

Your Instructor

Hi, I’m Peter Akkies

After graduating from a top college (Swarthmore, for the curious), I went to work in litigation consulting. I faced a never-ending to-do list and was always involved in many projects simultaneously. I didn’t have much free time.

After a few years, I decided to quit and start my own business. I soon began to teach people how to use task management apps to organize their lives, the way I wished I had when I worked in consulting.

These days, I can’t imagine my life without my to-do system. And I use what I learned as a consultant and in running my own business to help people like you get more organized. I’ll show you how to use the right workflows and systems to be more productive, and feel less overwhelmed.

For an introduction to my productivity philosophy, listen to my appearance on the popular Modern Wisdom podcast, episode 660 (Spotify, YouTube). You can also read more about me or listen to me tell my story on my own (former) podcast.

Anyway, shall we get started?

“There’s loads of info about OmniFocus online and it is bewildering. Doing this course is an easy option. Maybe you could get a lot of the info for free but there’s no guarantee and it could take lot of time.”

Frequently asked questions

What support can I get?

If you get stuck or want to run something by me, just leave a comment on the relevant course lesson.

What’s your refund policy?

If you’re not happy with the course, just let me know within 30 days of your purchase and I’ll give you a full refund. No drama, no questions asked.

Do you offer a payment plan?

You might be eligible to pay in installments. At checkout, look for the option to pay with Affirm, Afterpay, or Klarna. I don’t control whether this option is available to you, unfortunately.

Do you Offer any discounts?

No, I don’t. You can, however, buy this course as part of a bundle, at a lower price than if you were to purchase the courses separately.

How much time does the course take to complete?

You’ll be up and running with this workflow in an afternoon or two.

How long will I have access to the course?

Forever! Other sites may require you to keep a monthly subscription, but for this course, you pay once and you get lifetime access. You’ll also have access to course updates and new lessons.

When does the course start and finish?

This course is self-paced, so you can start it whenever you like and take as long as you need.

I’ve already bought another course (or book) on OmniFocus. How is this course different?

You won’t only learn where the buttons are in OmniFocus (though that is part of the course, too). We will go beyond that: you’ll learn a simple yet effective workflow that you can use right away to get stuff done.

(And I won’t waste your time teaching you complex customizations and automations that you don’t need.)

What if I need to use a Windows PC at work?

If you use Apple devices at home, but you use a PC at work, you can still use OmniFocus and you’ll still get a lot out of the system you’ll learn in this course.

In this case, I recommend that you bring your MacBook or your iPad to work. Simply use OmniFocus on your laptop/tablet and do the work on your PC.

On any computer, you can also use OmniFocus for the Web to manage your tasks and projects, although OmniFocus for the Web lacks certain features.

I don’t have a Mac. Can I still use OmniFocus?

Do you have an iPhone or iPad? Then absolutely.

In prior versions of OmniFocus I recommended against it, but with version 4, OmniFocus now has really solid iPhone and iPad apps.

In the course videos, I mostly use OmniFocus on macOS, but the system/workflow is the same on all devices. If you want to use OmniFocus only on your iPhone and/or iPad, you’ll have to translate my macOS instructions to the mobile interface. That’s easy: the course includes a lesson walking you through the OmniFocus interface on iOS.

Do I need OmniFocus Pro?

Yes. Key course concepts rely on features only available in the Pro version of OmniFocus.

What languages are available for video subtitles?

Arabic, Chinese (simplified), French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, and Turkish. If you need them in a different language, ask me. I might be able to add them; it depends on whether the course platform supports your language.

Can I buy bulk licenses for my team?

Yes, just email me.
